Walk Worthy
Walk worthy — all the way, every day
For three chapters Paul told us WHO we are in Christ. Now he says: LIVE LIKE IT. The word 'walk' in Paul's language meant your whole way of living — every single step, every single day. And he says: walk WORTHY of the calling. That is a high standard! Not casually, not carelessly, not holding on to Jesus on Sunday and living like the world on Monday. Worthy walking means humility — putting others first, not yourself; gentleness — strength under complete control; patience — staying kind even when it is very hard; and bearing with each other in LOVE even when people disappoint you.
Then Paul lists seven great 'ones' that hold God's family together: one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father. Seven ones! Whatever differences we have, what unites us is immeasurably bigger.
This is the lifestyle that flows from genuine salvation — not a life of sin with a religious cover, but a life genuinely transformed from the inside out, walking every day in a way that honours the God who saved us.

Big idea: holy living as the natural consequence of genuine conversion.
Scripture calls us to take the walk of holiness with absolute seriousness — 'We take Christian living and holiness seriously' is in the founding statement. The four virtues of 4:2 (humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance in love) are not optional add-ons to salvation; they are the marks of a genuinely transformed life. For Scripture, a person who claims salvation but continues to live like the world raises serious questions about whether the conversion was genuine. Verses 7-10 add that the ascended Christ gives gifts — including the gift of an evangelistic call — confirming that every believer is equipped for ministry, not just clergy.
Conversation starters: (1) 'Walking worthy' — what would that look like in your school tomorrow, specifically? (2) Is there a difference between a person who is saved and a person who is genuinely holy? What is it? (3) Which of the seven 'ones' surprises you most — and how does knowing you share it with Christians everywhere in the world make you feel?
Pray for one specific step of obedience each family member will take this week to walk more worthily.
