Carry Each Other's Burdens
You reap what you sow
Paul gives practical instructions for living in community: if someone is caught in sin, restore them gently, watching your own heart so you're not tempted too. CARRY EACH OTHER'S BURDENS, and in this way you fulfill the law of Christ! Don't think you're too important to help with someone else's struggle — if you think you're above it, you're only fooling yourself.
Each person should test their own actions honestly, not comparing themselves to others to feel superior.
Then comes a principle that applies to everything: 'Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.' Whoever sows to please their sinful nature will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. Don't grow weary in doing good — at just the right time, you'll reap a harvest, IF you don't give up!
And finally: as much as you're able, do good to everyone, especially fellow believers in the faith. The Christian life is a community project — carrying burdens together, sowing patiently, never giving up.

Big idea: practical community life — gentle restoration, mutual burden-bearing, honest self-examination — flowing directly from the Spirit-filled life described in chapter 5, with the sowing/reaping principle (6:7-9) as a sober, motivating reminder that present choices have real, lasting consequences. This ties the doctrinal heights of chapters 1-4 into everyday, communal practice.
Conversation starters: (1) What does it look like practically to "carry someone's burden" this week? (2) Why does Paul warn "God cannot be mocked" right after talking about helping others? (3) What's one area you don't want to "grow weary" in doing good?
Pray for endurance in doing good, and for a community that genuinely carries each other's burdens.
