Don't Throw Away Your Confidence!

Hebrews 10:19-39

Hold on, and don't give up

Because of Christ's finished sacrifice, we can now draw near to God with full CONFIDENCE, with hearts sprinkled clean and a clear conscience.

So the writer urges three things: hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, spur one another toward love and good deeds, and don't give up meeting together, encouraging each other, especially as the day of Christ's return approaches!

Then comes a serious warning again: if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the full knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice left to cover it.

But the writer ends with confidence: you have need of endurance, not fear — so that after doing the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. Don't throw away your confidence! It will be richly rewarded.

Big idea: confident access to God flowing from Christ's finished work, paired with a sober warning against deliberately abandoning that truth — sharper than chapter 6's, yet closing with warm encouragement to endure, not fear.

Conversation starters: (1) Why does meeting together matter so much? (2) What does "throwing away confidence" look like, versus holding it? (3) What's the difference between struggling with sin and deliberately rejecting truth?

Pray for endurance, confidence, and faithful gathering together.
